Bio-Studies Staff

Bio-Studies has three full time staff members in the Southern California office and three to four part-time project-based positions throughout the Southwest.

Our staff offers a unique blend of project management, environmental education, scientific research, habitat management, permitting and regulatory qualifications and experience.

  • PRINCIPAL BIOLOGIST

    Rod Dossey is the principal biologist, planner, and project manager at Bio-Studies. He is responsible for project acquisition and oversight and ensuring the technical accuracy and quality of project deliverables. He holds a B.S. in Biology over 26 years of experience managing survey efforts, analyzing data and preparing reports for general biological surveys and focused surveys for rare and endangered species throughout California and the Southwest. His project experience includes impact evaluations, constraints analysis, mitigation planning, vegetation mapping, biological resources reports, interpretation and implementation of multiple regional conservation plans across the Southwest, jurisdictional assessments and permitting, construction monitoring, and habitat management plans. He has managed projects between a few acres to several thousand acres as well as both large and small-scale construction monitoring projects. Rod has successfully managed small projects to large multi-million-dollar environmental projects for both private and public agencies and is adept at cost effective management of large teams. His expertise lies in managing expectations and facilitating successful outcomes for complex projects with a variety of local, state, and federal government stakeholders. A passionate botanist, Rod has surveyed well over twenty-five thousand acres within San Diego for rare plants.

  • Senior Biologist

    Diana Saucedo serves as a senior biologist and project manager for Bio-Studies. She is responsible for threatened and endangered species surveys, biological resource surveys, preparation of technical reports, restoration planning, and habitat management. In addition, she supports Bio-Studies across a diverse geographical area with advice, training, and risk management. Diana holds a B.S in Ecology and a Professional Certificate in Natural Resource Management. She has over 24 years of experience in biological and natural resource management in Southern California and New South Wales, Australia. She has participated in all facets of native habitat restoration planning on projects in Southern California and New South Wales, She is permitted to conduct surveys for the Quino checkerspot butterfly, coastal California gnatcatcher, and all listed vernal pool branchiopods in the state of California.


  • STAFF BIOLOGIST

    Jared Fuller serves as a biologist for Bio-Studies where he assists in conducting habitat assessments, wildlife surveys, and performs biological monitoring. He assists in the preparation prepares of biological technical reports and compliance documentation in support of federal, state, and local jurisdiction sponsored projects. Jared holds a M.S. in Biology and has over 10 years of experience in working as a wildlife biologist. Before joining Bio-Studies, Jared worked for and collaborated with government and non-profit agencies in support of research and management of federally endangered western snowy plover, sea turtles, and freshwater mussels, and worked as field technician tracking mammals such as deer, bats, and ocelot. Jared’s passion is herpetology, especially when it comes to horned lizards, since completing his thesis on horned lizards in Texas.
